Where the civic data in Devote Democracy comes from, who publishes it, and how we credit it.

About this page

Devote Democracy is a non-partisan civic app. It shows people who represents them, what their parliaments and councils are doing, and how money moves in politics. Almost all of that comes from public bodies and civic groups that publish it openly. This page lists every source behind what we show, country by country.

For each source we give its publisher, the licence it is published under, what we use it for, and the credit its licence asks for. Most are under open licences, such as the Open Government Licence, the Open Parliament Licence and Creative Commons licences. Where a publisher states no licence, we say so, credit it, and link back to the original.

Some of these sites are read by our crawler, DevoteBot, which says who we are on every request and obeys robots.txt.
